[THE HUG WAS EXTREMELY OFF-PUTTING but like in a good way? This whole thing has been fucking weird and no one better say shit about how Abbacchio kept reaching up carefully dab at his eyes so his mascara didn't run. He can't fix it if it does.

[Abbacchio looks up from where he is fighting a (losing) battle with his new Skitty to keep him away from his fucking breakfast, little shit furball.]

Bucciarati had gone ahead and taken up the job of cooking for the camp, and once most of the food's been handed out, he grabs a couple of the plates that haven't been taken yet and finds himself at Abbacchio's side.

And for once, Bucciarati is very, very visibly annoyed.]

[Something's different when Bruno wakes up this morning. It takes him a while to figure out, but the answer comes when he's working on making breakfast and he needs to get something just out of his reach--his first instinct is still to bring out Sticky Fingers, despite half a year without access to his Stand.

Except, this time, Sticky Fingers appears to grab what Bruno needs.

So Leone might be hearing a startled shout from the kitchen.]

[Leone, who was still mostly asleep, falls out of the bed as he stumbles to the kitchen.]

[Sometime on Christmas morning, after Bruno has given Narancia his gift, he pulls Leone off to their room.]

[Honestly, taking this time in Cherrygrove was a good idea.

First, there had been the time at the spa--afterward seeing Bruno getting some of the products for sale and managing to endear himself enough to the owner to get some massage lessons.

Today, a bookstore date (a surprise from Leone that absolutely delighted Bruno), and now... dinner. It would've been easy to order in, but Bruno had already decided he wanted to make it himself--food that goes well with the wine he'd gotten, something as close as possible to Leone's favorite from home.

It's actually the wine he brings over first, giving Leone a quick kiss as he does.]

[Today has been...a thing, that's for sure. He doesn't really know how to handle all of this everything, but he can't say he minds it.

Bruno brings over the wine with a smile and Leone can't help but return it and the kiss.]

Not gonna lie, I've like the quiet.

[Yes, he's already given Leone a birthday gift. No, he does not give a damn. He is spoiling his partner anyway, thank you very much.

There is pizza and there is wine.]

[Leone hasn't put Lustro in the ball or PC since getting him, even if the little guy is just all up in his business all the time every hour of the day. It does mean that when Bruno brings over pizza, Leone has to fight the spoiled little thing to get him out of his lap.]

[Perhaps understandably given what had been going on, Bruno's been a bit on pins and needles the whole night.

[It has been... a month.

Ever since Narancia vanished, neither Bruno nor Leone have wanted to do much of anything.

Which is fine for a while, but Bruno realizes the two of them can't do this forever.

At some point when Leone is sitting down and doesn't seem particularly busy, Bruno comes over and drapes on him, resting his chin on top of Leone's head.]

[Leone looks up from his book, trying to glance at his partner.]

[After a long, hard-fought battle, Bruno finally has the last of the Kanto badges.

He'll need to reward his team later, but for now... Well, once he and Leone are out of the gym, he's throwing his arms around Leone's neck to give his partner a kiss.]

And with that, we can officially be done with Kanto!

[And Leone, ecstatic for Bruno, leans down and sort of dips him as they kiss.]

Finally. Islands for Christmas, and then on to Johto?
